Corrie's Sally Dynevor spotted practicing risky lifts and ahead of Dancing On Ice debut

Coronation Street icon Sally Dynevor has been practicing her moves with her Dancing On Ice partner Matt Evers ahead of the new series, expected to air this month.

The actress, who plays Sally Metcafle in the long-running ITV soap, is due to compete in the upcoming series of the ice-skating competition and has been testing out some daring lifts and advanced moves during her recent rehearsals.

In pictures seen by the Mirror, she has been practicing her routines at an ice rink with Matt, accompanied by a trainer to help her with the more advanced lifts and tricks..

Sally has been seen balancing on Matt’s shoulders, possibly a new move for their first performance, but this was performed off the ice so as to avoid any injury.

A trainer spoke the pair through the moves and they later attempted the risky trick on the ice where they were seen laughing and discussing their routine.

Matt spun her round has she held on tight and at one point Sally appeared to lose her balance. Luckily her trainer and partner were there to help her up and they continued practising.

The trio seemed all laughs during the training session as 58 year old Sally skated around the rink, but Sally hasn’t always been this relaxed about ice skating.

She recently admitted that it took her three years to accept the offer to compete in Dancing On Ice as she was afraid of injury. Although she looks like a natural, Sally said: “It was just too scary and I was worried about hurting myself.”

Corrie’s Sally has been training for months

“My younger daughter Hattie used to go and I’d get coffee and watch her from the side but I’d never go on the ice. I was first asked about Dancing On Ice three years ago but it’s taken me this long to pluck up the courage to do it.”

Sally, like most of us, realised that she should take the chance to do something she’s always wanted to do due to the Covid-19 lockdowns.

She admitted: “The lockdowns were a factor in me deciding to take up the offer. They made me think I should take every opportunity that comes my way as I don’t know how many more there will be.”
