Corrie’s Stu ‘unveiled’ as Charlie Stubbs’ father as fans think he has it in for Tracy

Coronation Street’s Stu Carpenter is hiding a secret up his sleeve next week, as spoilers have confirmed his long-lost daughter and ex-wife are about to be exposed on the cobbles.

But fans think he could be hiding something even more sinister, as the most eagle-eyed among them have spotted a potential DNA link to a former Corrie villain – and think Stu could be out for revenge.

Not much is known about the formerly homeless chef’s past, other than he trained as a cook in the Navy before going on to work at a pub before losing his job.

Spoilers have revealed that he also has a daughter called Bridget and an unknown granddaughter, along with an ex-wife, Lucy.

But nothing else has been revealed so far – and fans think that in a twist of fate, Stu could be the father of late baddie Charlie Stubbs.

Along with attempting to drown David Platt, Charlie had an affair with Maria Windass, feuded with Peter Barlow and repeatedly cheated on Tracy behind her back.

Tracy went on to feign abuse and ended up killing Charlie and spending years in prison for the crime.

But now fans think Stu may want further revenge after embarking on a plot to put Tracy in her place earlier this year during a wine tasting session.

Things didn’t exactly end with them being best pals – but with Stu at the centre of a storyline again, could this be explored in more depth?

Taking to Twitter to air their opinions, one fan penned: “Okay so hear me out there’s stuff going to be revealed about Stu and I’m sure he’s going to be Charlie Stubbs’ relative… he seems to have it in for Tracy even after they kinda made friends…”

They then added: “Just think it could be interesting if he’s related in some way or has a connection to someone already on the street?”

As another echoed: “It seems Stu has it in for the Barlows. Is he Charlie Stubbs’s father or something?”

“Is Stu Charlie Stubbs’s father? Seems like he has it in for Tracy Luv,” a third commented.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
