Dancing on Ice viewers convinced they've found ideal solution to stop 'fix' accusations

Every week some furious Dancing on Ice viewers who are angry over the vote-off results claim there has been a show ‘fix’.

While others have been left raging over the fact that some of the celebrity skaters have professional dancing experience such as former Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole, 45.

But some fans of the programme are convinced they have come up with the perfect solution to eliminate ‘fix’ accusations once and for all.

Taking to forum Digital Spy, one viewer said they would solve the accusations by “changing the skate off decision and public vote”.

Explaining their solution, they shared: “What do you think about changing the public vote so that the public don’t vote for their favourite’s performance, but vote on which of the bottom two stays? It would eliminate all the screeches of ‘FIX!!!'”

Dancing on Ice viewers can turn leaderboard upside down with their votes

The current Dancing on Ice voting system sees judges give a score from zero to ten for each couple, who comprise of a celebrity and a professional skater.

The viewing public then have to vote for their favourites and who they want to skate through to another week. But the public vote carries much more weight than the judges’ vote, which means they have the power to turn the leaderboard on its head.

But if the programme tried the solution the fan suggested, the system would completely change.

Bez has skated through to another week

The judges would instead determine the final leaderboard, with the public instead voting for which of the bottom two they wanted to save.

Some viewers were all for the new system and thought it would be a positive change to the show, however, others weren’t quite as convinced.

One Dancing on Ice fan argued: “That would mean some people’s votes would never, ever be tested as they would never fall into the bottom. For shows like this, I think production are very keen to see the voting stats each week to gauge how popular certain contestants are, and treat them accordingly in terms of production value, running order etc etc.

“I also don’t think the public would be very happy with that system; i think people like the idea of supporting someone from the beginning, and if you could only vote for your favourite in the finals, a lot of people will have lost interest by then.” There were also concerns that Bez, who has been repeatedly branded a favourite, would coast through to the final.

“There would still be cries of fix as Bez would almost always win the vote over the person above him. If anything this would guarantee Bez a place in the final.”

Dancing on Ice returns on Sunday at 6.30pm
