Dancing on Ice star Regan Gascoigne has revealed he “popped his shoulder out of its socket” in a nasty skating accident.
The 26-year-old appeared on the latest episode of Lorraine alongside his skating partner Karina Manta on Tuesday.
While teasing a new football show with his father Paul Gascoigne, Regan also recalled a dramatic tumble he took on the rink earlier this week, during which he “went flying” and ended up on his back.
Regan later confirmed that he had “popped his shoulder out” in the dramatic incident.
Speaking on Lorraine, he said: “One tiny little movement can throw you.
“It sounds so stupid because it is so slippery, but it is so slippery to a point where you’re like, you have no control, but you genuinely don’t, even when you think you know what you’re doing and you have the routine in your head.
“Like the other day when we were just on the practice rink, I went, like, flying up and landed up on my back, literally on something that I had been doing so easily. It just happens.”
Regan later confirmed the extent of his injuries following the fall.
Asked by Lorraine how his body coped with the tumble, Regan replied: “[I’m a] little battered and bruised!
“Both of my knees have always got knee supports on, they’re a bit swollen, I’ve popped my shoulder out.”
Karina added: “He’s very tough. He just keeps going. He doesn’t want to stop for anything.”
Boasting a dance background, Regan and Karina have regularly topped the leaderboard on the ITV show alongside competitors including Brendan Cole.
Earlier this month, the couple were met with claims by fans that they had been “overmarked” by the judges after stumbling three times in their routine.
Lorraine airs at 9am on weekdays while Dancing on Ice continues this Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
