Denise Van Outen made her first TV appearance following her breakup with fiancé Eddie Boxshall, where she revealed she received a love letter from a famous footballer.
The TV star appeared on Channel 4 show Steph’s Packed Lunch on Monday just days after announcing her split with her Celebrity Gogglebox co-star.
Denise, 47, shared with fans on social media last week that she had decided to go separate ways with Eddie after spending seven years together.
According to claims by The Sun, this was due to Eddie having phone sex and going on multiple dates with other women.
However, actress Denise opened up to host Steph McGovern about her love life as she spilled a romantic tale regarding a famous footballer.
She told Channel 4 viewers that she once had a flirty note from a “very, very famous” football star just moments before they went on-air together.
This came after Steph probed into her guests’ past romances, talking about different and “quirky ways” they had been asked out.
Denise said: “I did get a letter under the door years ago when I was doing a BBC show – a very, very famous footballer slipped a note under my dressing room door.
“Just before we went live on air – I can’t say who it was,” she continued, as Steph, 39, speculated whether it could have been pros, David Beckham or John Terry.
She continued: “He was single at the time, which is unusual for a footballer. He had very nice writing. It was quite a long letter, but I was already seeing someone.
“I had to go on TV with him and it was really awkward. We were sitting there and he kept going to me…” she said as she raised her eyebrows suggestively.
After the news of the split, Eddie, 47, has since shared a cryptic post on social media and posted a photo of a mirror with a quote on it.
The words on the mirror read: “When everything is uncertain, everything that is important becomes clear.”
And he captioned it: “Health and love.”
Eddie is still currently yet to publicly speak on the matter but sources say that he wanted Denise back.
