It’s safe to say 2022 has been Dreamcatcher’s year – and it was clear to see both they and their fans were ecstatic to be meeting once again.
The rock queens of K-Pop performed at London’s O2 Academy Brixton as part of their Apocalypse: Follow Us world tour and their confidence was more obvious than ever.
As hardcore fans of the seven-piece group will know, this has been Dreamcatcher’s biggest year of their career, with their second full-length album, first ever music show win and newly renewed contracts.

Excited fans – known as Insomnia – were ready to see the girls perform again, after their past concert in London in 2019, this time armed with Dreamcatcher’s official lightstick which filled the venue with an ocean of colour.
Kicking things off, Dreamcatcher took to the stage with their most recent title track Vision, before performing Maison, the song which got them their first music show win in South Korea.
The powerful songs – both with important messages – got the crowd truly warmed up before the group continued on with the creepy Because and the witchy Red Sun.
Dreamcatcher – made up of JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, Gahyeon – interacted with the crowd in English and via a translator and had their fans hanging on their every word.
Yoohyeon, who mainly spoke to the audience in English, surprised fans with a short cover of Anne-Marie song 2002.
Continuing on with the regular performance, Dreamcatcher showed off more sides to them with Rainy Day, Jazz Bar and Poison Love.
The girls performed in military-inspired stage costumes, though they were able to show off their powerful and dynamic choreography with the ease that fans have come to expect.
Mixing live vocals with lipsyncing during the more intense choreography, Dreamcatcher gave fans exactly what they were wanting.
Next on the line-up was Odd Eye and Scream – both with very intense dance routines that, despite being performed midway through the set-list, that were performed tirelessly.
Fan-favourite song Scream had the crowd singing along, with the audience then getting a chance to catch their break when each member got to showcase their solo tracks.
The seven members each had a solo track on their second full-length album, and they performed to a snippet of each in turn.
But they all took it in turns to show fans a dance to SuA’s solo track No Dot, putting on some saucy performances to the rock song.
More fan-favourite songs followed with Break The Wall and Locked Inside A Door, but it was Silent Night which got everyone moving.
A huge move away from Dreamcatcher’s trademark sound, Silent Night turned the Brixton venue from a rock concert to an EDM rave, with flashing lights and pumping fists.
The energy didn’t slow down after that, with Dreamcatcher going into Wind Blows and Boca – one of their most popular songs thanks to Dami’s iconic rap verse.
“Hold up! I’m a geek the big paradox,” the audience screamed along as Dami took centre-stage.
The song, which is about people spreading harsh words, also allowed youngest member Gahyeon to show off her ever-growing confidence.
And Chinese member Handong seemed extra happy to be back on the stage, as she had been unable to join the 2019 tour due a schedule conflict.
The concert drew to a close with Fairytale, Starlight and Some Love, before an encore of Over The Sky and New Days.
While the concert was five-star from start to finish, the set list was a little confusing, with much of the group’s older singles missing.
Of course, it gave fans of old the chance to see newer songs – both title and album tracks – performed live, with the group having attracted thousands more fans, a nod to their older discography would have been nice.
And while the sentiment of ending on an upbeat group of songs was understood, it feels like they missed a trick not performing classics like Deja Vu, Piri or their debut song Chase Me.
Either way, a Dreamcatcher show should never be missed – and the girls proved exactly why.
Hopefully it’ll be sooner than three years when they make their next return, and after their huge 2022, the sky is the limit for the charismatic, charming and ever-talented Dreamcatcher.
