Eamonn Holmes seen with crutches on night out after sharing health struggles

Eamonn Holmes has been pictured walking with crutches as he enjoyed a festive night out with Piers Morgan.

The former This Morning star has been very open about the “hellish” rehabilitation he’s been through after having an operation on his back following a fall down the stairs which fractured his shoulder.

The 63-year-old didn’t let his ongoing health struggles dampen his mood though as he was all smiles next to controversial host Piers, 57.

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers had thrown the festive party for some of his nearest and dearest, and Eamonn was excited to get out of the house.

Sharing a photo to Instagram, he said: “Big step forward for me tonight – literally.

“Got myself to a Christmas gathering hosted by Piers.

“Felt really good being out and mixing. Better than medicine. Happy Christmas everyone.”

GB News presenter Eamonn has been very open about his health struggles over the past couple of years.

He went on leave from his hosting duties back in September so he could have surgery to treat his chronic back pain.

Eamonn has documented his journey to better health on social media, having steroid injections to try and ease his pain previously.

Doctors first advised him against an operation on his back after he dislocated his pelvis and slipped three discs in his spine.

Instead he was given daily exercises, painkillers and massage appointments – but it wasn’t enough.

Eamonn later went on to have surgery and told the Express: “I pray that God will guide my surgeon’s hand this week and help me get back to the man I used to be.

“The thing is I might have a way out. So many others will never have that hope and that can be the most crushing pain of all.

“I am hoping that this will be a Back To The Future procedure and that I go back to the way I was 18 months ago.”
