East 17’s Terry Coldwell has slammed the idea of ever reuniting with his old bandmates.
Terry is currently the only original member left in the group and is still grafting to perform and put out new music for the group’s fans.
The group used to be formed with Terry, Brian Harvey, Tony Mortimer and John Hendy in the 90s’ but after multiple change-ups now consists of Terry, Robbie Craig and Joe Livermore.
Terry chatted exclusively to the Daily Star about the idea of ever reuniting with the old line-up, which he said would “never” happen.
The singer said: “I haven’t been in touch with the old band members, no one talks to each other, too much water under the bridge, as they say.
“I tried 10 years ago to get everyone together for the Big Reunion TV show but it never happened due to certain band members not wanting to do it.
“There won’t be a reunion.”
Talking about the 2022 line-up, he continued: “I don’t have regrets, everything happens for a reason, I’m in a very good place and my current band members are my best mates, we get along so well and there’s never any drama.
“The key is we love what you do and feel so privileged to have this fantastic job and to be performing all over the world for our fans.
“I love working with Robbie and Joe and we have a good laugh when we’re working.”
He also let us in on some surprising facts about the newer members of the group.
Terry explained: “People might not know Robbie had a hit with Craig David and Artful Dodger in the year 2000 with a track Robbie wrote called Woman Trouble also he won a prestige songwriting award called an Ivor Novello award for that track and Stevie Wonder presented the award to him.
“Joe in the band is an ex-British team gymnast, also a stuntman and actor he has been in Harry Potter, Dumbo, Jason bourne and Green Street, and many more movies. He also got to the finals of Sky 1 Got To Dance with his Breakdance crew.”
Terry also mentioned his new music, a track titled I Just Wanna, which will is coming from an album that will be released later in the year.
The star said: “The new song was written as a motivational song to tell everyone go and get your dream, go for it and don’t hold back. Live life and be happy!”
