EastEnders' Deano star Matt Diangelo announces birth of twins with sweet snap

EastEnders star Matt Diangelo has announced the arrival of his twins.

The actor posted a snap of his two little ones to Instagram as their hands touched in a sweet photo while Matt praised his wife Sophia.

He wrote: “My beautiful wife @sophiaperry has had two happy and healthy babies and begun raising them. I’m in the kitchen trying to work out the steriliser.

“Welcome to the world Raphael & Daphne. My dynamic duo. 15/08/22.”

Fans and friends alike rushed to the comments to praise the actor on his new arrivals.

He couldn’t wait to share the news

Former EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, who played Lauren Branning in the soap, wrote: “Twins. Congrats guys! Love this,” and added a line of kisses.

A keen fan told Matt that he will be “the best dad” and said that their names are “beautiful”.

Meanwhile, another follower gushed over his “gorgeous angels” and wished the couple well.

Matt and Sophia announced their pregnancy back in April and shared the babies’ genders with their overjoyed fans.

The EastEnders star joked: “‘The lottery of life’, still a fair way to go but we feel very blessed. The boy’s name will be Jack and the girl’s will be Pot.”

Throughout their pregnancy, the couple have kept their followers updated and have shared sweet pictures of themselves as they prepared for their new arrivals.

Matt and Sophia went on holiday together and uploaded a picture of a very pregnant Sophia as she held her hand in the air.

Matt stood behind her and told fans that he was “relieved” not to have had the biggest belly during their trip away.

The actor is known for his role as Dean Wicks in BBC’s EastEnders as well as con artist Sean in Hustle.

He also competed in Strictly Come Dancing back in 2007 where he fell under the Strictly curse with partner Flavia Cacace, but their relationship came to an end in 2008.

Matt married Sophia, a fellow actress who is know for her role in Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, in 2021.

Before their marriage, the couple had dated for five years and then got engaged in 2019.
