EastEnders fan are demanding a permanent return from fan favourite Pam Coker after she made a brief comeback to the BBC soap.
Lin Blakley reprised her role as the loveable charatcer during Thursday night’s edition of the BBC One soap to support her former son-in-law Ben Mitchell after the brutal homophobic attack.
Concerned for the fragile state Ben is in, Callum Highway reached out to Pam and left fans across the country thrilled as she returned to Albert Square.
Turning up at the flat, Pam got Ben engaged in an emotional conversation that sparked a public cry for the character to return to the soap permanently.
One wrote: “We need more Pam”
A second said: “Just stop mucking about @bbceastenders and bring Pam and Les back permanently”
Another added: “I love Pam, she needs to come back permanently.”
While a fourth commented: “wish they would bring back #Pam permanently I love her!!”
Fans marveled as Pam was able to comfort Ben and get him to open up about his feelings.
“This world never ceases to let you down, does it?” she said.
“When I heard your Callum got hurt, my stomach tied in knots.
“I thought of Paul, I thought of you and I just had to come down to see if you’re OK.
“So tell me the truth Ben, are you OK?”
As Ben admitted he wasn’t, he sobbed into Pam’s arms.
Later Ben opened up to Callum – but it wasn’t what anyone was expecting.
He told him how he was terrified of him dying like Paul and ashamed that he froze and couldn’t fight back.
“They could have killed you like they did Paul,” he said.
“I always said if I’d have been there I could have saved him but I didn’t, did I. I just froze.”
Ben and his partner Callum along with Stacey Slater and wife Eve Unwin were directly impacted by a homophobic attack carried out this week by evil Neil and members of his hate group.

Ben Mitchell will be among those drawn into the right-wing hate group storyline in upcoming scenes, after narrowly escaping injury, or worse, on New Year’s Eve when a bomb was planted near The Albert but not detonated.
Pam knows all too well about the emotional scars of homophobic violence because her grandson Paul was killed in a similar attack while dating Ben.
Pam actress Lin Blakley joined EastEnders in 2014 and left fans devastated when she left in 2016, but has since made a number of cameo appearances.
