Everyone loves a good soap couple, from forbidden lovers to childhood sweethearts and everything in between.
Since most of the British soaps have been around a while, we’ve had our fair share of matchups that became fan favourites.
This time, we’re going back to the early 2000s and to Eastenders. Andy Hunter arrived in Walford and soon headed up the deadly gang known only as The Firm after Jack Dalton was murdered by Dennis Rickman, the son of Dirty Den Watts.

The bad boy saw Kat Slater get stolen by Alfie Moon at the altar, but soon got hitched to Sam Mitchell.
However their relationship didn’t run smoothly as he eventually took her for all of her cash after she accidentally signed her house over to him.
Murderer Andy’s days were numbered after he was also responsible for the death of Paul Trueman but his reign of terror ended when he was killed in 2005 at the hands of Johnny Allen.

Since waving goodbye to Walford, actor Michael Higgs has starred in a long list of other TV shows including Silent Witness, New Tricks, Casualty, The Bill, and Midsomer Murders.
Most recently he starred in the series Agatha Raisin playing the part of George Selby which was originally broadcast on Sky1. In celebration of his casting, talent agency MacFarlane Chard shared a photo of Michael to Twitter back in May, along with the caption: “Tonight at 8pm Michael Higgs stars in Agatha Raisin on Sky Max.”
And it highlights just how different things are now for Michael.
Andy might have diced with death a few times during his reign of terror twenty years ago, but EastEnders viewers will bid farewell to another Walford resident in heartbreaking scenes set to air next week.
Avery Baker (Omar Lye-Fook) is desperate to go to an old restaurant that him and brother Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) used to eat at when they were younger but knowing Avery is too weak and doesn’t have long left, Mitch has another idea.
Mitch later leads Avery to the laundrette where he is surprised with a Caribbean themed party.
