Elton John sparks concern after missing Jubilee concert as BBC airs pre-recorded song

Elton John has sparked health concerns from worried fans after he ‘performed’ at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Eager fans watched the event unfold at Buckingham Palace on BBC One on 4 June and many were excited to see their favourite musician perform for the monarch.

However, the 75-year-old was forced to pre-record his piece which got the public wondering about his health.

One fan posted on social media: “So gutted Elton John isn’t there and performing live! I thought he was 🙁 lovely song though, just not the same recorded.”

Another added: “Wonder how long ago Elton recorded? He looks in bad shape..”

A third chipped in: “Elton has pre recorded because his voice isn’t what it used to be. He needs help from technology and can no longer perform live without it. It’s easier for him to pre record. Still an icon though.”

His fellow celebrity musician pals Ed Sheeran, Diana Ross, Duran Duran, Craig David, Hans Zimmer, Nile Rogers, Alicia Keys and Eurovision icon Sam Ryder were all in tow.

Elton was unable to participate in the proceedings as he is currently on the European leg of his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour.

He was in Switzerland and is set to perform in Denmark and the Netherlands as part of his tour, which has faced huge problems over the last few years.

It initially kicked off back in 2018 but has had multiple postponements and interferences due to Covid-19 and an unfortunate hip injury.

Sir Elton’s tour is being documented and will have a “small theatrical run” before it is released exclusively to Disney+ to stream.

The Rocketman singer was recently spotted looking frail as he arrived at Leipzig Airport on his way home to Nice.

He took some time off the tour and was seen being pushed around in a wheelchair to help his mobility issues.

This came just days before he was scheduled to perform for the Queen at her Jubilee party, but that didn’t dampen the legendary musician’s sense of style.

She could be seen in a matching blue monogrammed Gucci tracksuit which had a red sports stripe down the sleeves, legs and cuffs.

He was spotted in the apparatus

He added a black face mask for good measure and said that “not even a sprained ankle could keep him from seeing one of the most beautiful museums in the world” when he was in Florence.

His tour is meant to continue and he is set to appear in Hyde Park later this month alongside many of his famous friends.

Rina Sawayama, who collaborated with him on a duet last year, is expected to join him at the event which will take place on the 24 June.
