Emmerdale Cain and Al showdown 'exposed' – Chas arrested, Aaron murders Al and Cain dies

Cain Dingle and Al Chapman come face to face in Emmerdale this week, as Chas Dingle’s brother discovers she has been having an affair.

Viewers know that Chas and Al have been embroiled in a steamy romance for quite some time – with her own son Aaron recently learning the truth.

But how will Cain react? And what does this mean for Al as they face a showdown in the barn?

With Cain holding a shotgun, a firing noise can be heard in Monday night’s episode – but just who has shot who?

As fans wait to find out the character’s fates, Daily Star takes a closer look at the theories behind the showdown between Cain and Al.

Affair exposed

Al Chapman and Chas Dingle have been embroiled in a steamy affair

Emmerdale fans have been waiting for Al and Chas’ affair to be exposed – and now they think it will all come to a head as the truth leads to an epic showdown between Cain and Al.

But who exposes the affair?

Fans suspect that although Cain and Al have the showdown in the barn, the truth will actually be revealed by Chas’ son Aaron.

Viewers recently saw Chas trying to encourage Aaron to leave after the funerals, in order to keep the affair a secret, but with Chas pushing him away, could this spur Aaron on to reveal the truth to Chas and Paddy?

Fans seem to think so, with one saying: “How many times do Chaz and Al feel the need to meet up in a day #Emmerdale? Hopefully Cain or Aaron will sort out the creep.”

Fans think that Paddy or Aaron could expose Chas’ affair

“Chas lying to Aaron, guilt tripping him and convincing him to leave after the funerals when he was going to stay, wanting to support Vinny, all so she can carry on with Al,” said a second.

“Chas has really hit a new low. She really wants Aaron to go, so her dirty affair stays a secret, it’s actually sick. I hope this storyline comes to an end and she’s exposed,” agreed a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I just want Aaron to tell Paddy that Chas was cheating.”

Other viewers are not so sure however, with a fifth adding: “If Cain does away with Al, I do hope Chas doesn’t get away with her affair. Only Aaron and Belle know and they won’t tell.”

Cain dies

Fans are concerned that Cain Dingle could die in Emmerdale

Cain actor Jeff Hordley had previously hinted at a press event for the soap’s 50th anniversary celebrations that Chas and Al’s affair will exposed – setting the stage for a major showdown between Cain and Al.

“Al and Cain have been circling each other for quite a while,” said Jeff.

“However, I think this is going to lead to something if he finds out. I think there could be fireworks.”

Since then, a trailer for upcoming episodes of Emmerdale has teased a showdown in a barn between Cain and Al, but after watching the footage, fans are convinced that Cain will die.

“In the TV Emmerdale preview of Al and Cain, please don’t tell me Cain dies…” said one fan.

Could Cain Dingle kill Al Chapman instead?

“If anything happens to Cain, I am done with Emmerdale,” said a second, while a third added: “Emmerdale’s biggest mistake ever would be to kill Cain off.”

“Cain gets shot and Al gets locked up,” commented a fourth.

However, viewers are hoping that fan-favourite Cain will not die in the showdown – and that instead the tables will be turned as the affair is potentially exposed.

“Go on Cain, do us all a favour and kill off Al,” said another fan.

A sixth commented: “I hope Cain gets the upper hand, can’t stand Al.”

Aaron murders Al

Emmerdale bosses have announced in recent weeks that both Danny Miller, who plays Aaron, and Al star Michael Wildman, will be leaving the soap.

The announcements have led fans to speculate that the character’s exits could be intertwined – and that Al could be murdered by Aaron.

“She’s [Chas] alienated Aaron and if Al dies, she’ll have no one,” said one fan, while a second added: “The spoilers say ‘Aaron prepares to leave’ #Emmerdale. Does he actually leave that soon? Maybe because of the things that happen between Cain and Al?”

“I think Aaron kills him, he’s going out the show as well,” suggested a third.

Even if it not Aaron that shoots the gun, viewers have their theories that Al’s exit will still be a shock twist, with a fourth commenting: “Chas gets shot so Al decides to leave, or Al gets shot and dies.”

A fifth added: “”I think Cain will kill Al and no-one will ever know about the affair.”

Another Dales resident dies

Fans think that Kerry could be killed in the barnyard showdown

There has been much speculation online about who could die in the upcoming feud between Al and Cain, but fans have pointed out that a number of dales residents could be in danger.

On said: “I think there are 4 possible people who could be shot next week: Chas, Cain, Al and Aaron. I think it’s most likely going to be either Chas or Al…I can’t imagine Cain or Aaron going down.”

The recent storm has already taken the lives of Aaron’s sister Liv and Vicar Harriet, but fans suspect that another innocent dales resident could sadly be caught in the crossfire.

“I reckon the gun will go off and shoot Kerry! I don’t think Cain or Al will get shot,” they said.

Chas arrested

Could Chas Dingle shoot Al and be arrested in the showdown?

Although pictures from upcoming Emmerdale episodes show Cain holding a shotgun, fans have begun to ask if it could be Chas who shoots the fatal bullet instead?

Emmerdale producers teased earlier this year that the 50th anniversary episodes would see one of the characters potentially going to prison for life.

But who could it be?

Fans have their theories, suggesting that Chas could kill her lover in a surprise twist.

“So do we reckon that Al will get the upper hand of Cain and Chas kills Al, saving her brother and she’s the one who goes to prison?” one fan asked.

Other viewers seemed to agree, with one saying: “Chas needs to go and Aaron needs to stay,” as another commented: “Al needs to go, and I wouldn’t be upset if Chas went too.”

Meanwhile, fans also suspect that Cain could be the one who is sent to prison, with a fourth saying: “OMG I figured it out…remember when the producer of #Emmerdale said there will be a huge arrest at the end of the golden month. I figured out who this could be: Cain…he kills Al and he gets traumatised by his actions…so the shock arrest will be Cain right?”

Whoever may be sent to prison, Emmerdale’s showdown looks certain to be another shock storyline for many viewers – and for the characters too.
