Dotty Thomas made a rare appearance during the latest installment of Emmerdale on Thursday night, leaving viewers stunned.
Fans of the long-running ITV soap haven’t seen Dotty for a fair amount of time and were surprised with how much she had grown since her last apperance.
The daughter of Laurel and Ashley Thomas had been spoken of frequently throughout the show but viewers couldn’t help but share their delight when seeing her on-screen.
Jumping onto social media platform, Twitter, one fan said: “Blimey – we finally see Dotty after years of being up in her bedroom.”
Another commented: “Dotty is so big now omg.”
A third penned: “What have they been feeding the kids in the past 2 years-First Arthur now Dotty has shot up in height.”
A fourth echoed: “Well hasn’t there been a growing spurt in #emmerdale.. first Arthur now Dotty…what they feeding them.”
Dotty’s first appearance was in September 2016 and although she is only five years old, she has been involved in several hard-hitting storylines.
At seven months old, Dotty’s father Ashley tragically passed away.
But in 2020, things took a turn for the worst for the youngster.
Arthur’s quest for revenge on Archie Breckle reached new heights as he encouraged him to light a fire while they stayed at a campsite.
But disaster struck when a fiery blaze started, leaving young Dotty in extreme danger.
Dotty who was fast asleep in the tent nearby was unfortunately caught in the commotion when her tent also caught fire at the time.
Although Dotty’s life was in danger, she only received a few injuries from the terrifying accident.
But distraught mother Laurel was left with no other choice but to call the police on her son.
Talking to Inside Soap at the time, Charlotte Bellamy who plays Laurel said: “Laurel makes a very difficult decision, in that she invites PC Swirling round to the house to try to frighten Arthur.
“She thinks that if a policeman is sitting opposite Arthur and talking to him, maybe he will be more likely to listen,” she explained.
