Emmerdale’s Amelia Spencer has been struggling with her body image for the past few weeks – but fans are sure there could be another twist in store, as they’re sure she’s pregnant.
The youngster is desperate to become an Instagram influencer, and has resorted to taking dodgy medication to enhance her curves – despite her pal Cathy Hope warning her against it.
Obsessed with her phone and constantly critiquing her reflection, Amelia is determined to avoid being “basic” – and even rejected Samson Dingle’s affections because she was so caught up in the battle with her body image.
But now fans are sure a twist could be in store, with Amelia falling pregnant – and risking the baby’s health after ingesting the potentially toxic mixture.
Taking to Facebook, one fan predicted: “Amelia is pregnant!”, as another said: “Yes it’s true I just read it, she mistakes the morning sickness for feeling sick [because] of the stuff she’s taking!”
Someone else agreed: “It’s possible it’s a surprise twist!”
However, another fan disagreed, writing: “No I don’t think so. I think they are highlighting the impact of social media on young girls today.”
As someone else posted: “Watching Amelia breaks my heart my daughter is like this about herself and it’s all to do with social media, she’s 16 and hates herself, wish she would see how beautiful she is.”
“She’s not she’s just very insecure and thinks she’s fat. Sadly most kids are like it nowadays,” another social media user argued.
It comes as show spoilers have confirmed a tragic collapse for Amelia while out with Cathy and Samson as she continues slurping the syrup.
Amelia starts to feel funny while out, and the group soon rush to her aid to see if she’s okay.
Thankfully the teen comes to and tries to convince her pals that everything is fine, insisting she hasn’t eaten all day and that’s the reason behind her collapse – but Cathy isn’t convinced.
But will she let on about the syrup to anyone else?
Other fans are worried Amelia could end up dead as her health battle continues, with one writing on Twitter: “What did Amelia just drink?? She’s gonna end up killing herself!”
“Amelia needs her mum!” someone else echoed, while another said: “Amelia nearly lost her sight!”
