Emmerdale's Charley Webb shares heartbreak over missing her co-stars as they reunite

Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has expressed how much she misses her “old work family” in her latest instagram post featuring pictures of the actress enjoying a fun night with some of them.

Charley, 34, known as Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap for more than 10 years, posted pictures out with her former colleagues and shared how much they meant to her.

The snaps featured Emma Atkins, who played mum Charity, and former fictional dad Cain, played by Jeff Hordley, as well as other stars Zoe Henry and Eden Taylor-Draper.

The post featured Charlie oozing her own eclectic style and wearing a beanie hat, leopard print tights under an over sized blazer and slouchy black boots.

In one shot she posed next to her former co-star Jeff, draped on his shoulder with her tongue cheekily out.

Charley captioned the photos: “I will forever love my old work family. My heart feels so full and grateful they came into my life all those years ago. They will last a lifetime.”

Fans quickly took to Charley’s instagram, one commenting: “Hope Debbie comes back into Emmerdale, not the same without, Debbie, Cain, Charity together,” followed by an applause emoji.

A second simply penned: “You need to come back!”

A third wrote: “You make the programme, please come back.”

Some fans interpreted the post that used the words “old work family” as Charley confirming she would not be returning to the soap in the future.

One devastated fan wrote: “Old work family, that makes me sad,” and another wrote: “So sad to see you leave as Debbie Dingle.”

Charley is married to Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, and it was reported that his racism row on set was said to have fuelled her decision to step back from the soap.

But Charley has recently said on her Instagram feed that the real reason was that, after having her son Ace two years ago, she just returned to the show to finish a storyline and didn’t feel the need to announce a definite end to her time as Debbie Dingle after that.

It is reported that the door will always be open for Charley to return as Debbie Dingle should she change her mind.
