Emmerdale fans are certain there’s romance brewing between David Metcalfe and Leyla Cavanagh.
David, who’s currently in a relationship with Victoria, is facing a heap of trouble as it’s revealed he submitted her name for his speeding fine and she could now face a driving ban.
Elsewhere in the village, Leyla has returned and shortly after her comeback, broke up with her husband Liam Cavanagh, who she wed last year.

Now that Leyla is single and David’s relationship is on the rocks, fans suspect there could be sparks flying again between the pair.
One fan took to Twitter to share their suspicions. They wrote: “Leyla and David will probably get back together once David breaks up with Victoria. Very predictable #Emmerdale.”

However, another viewer wasn’t too keen on the idea, whether it materialises or not. They replied, writing: “God I hope not – she deserves better”.
David and Leyla started dating back in 2009. Things got off to a rocky start after Leyla had a one-night stand with her boss at the time, Nathan Wylde, which caused the pair to break up after she confessed this to David.

Nathan’s psychopathic ways also led to him blackmail David with a fake tape which made Leyla believe David had been having an affair during their relationship.
Despite the ups and downs, Leyla and David reunited.
Then in 2010, the news of Leyla’s secret son, Jacob, got out and David was annoyed at Leyla again, this time for lying to him.

The pair couldn’t bear to be apart and eventually got back together and tied the knot, but things went downhill shortly after and Leyla left for good.
Since then, Leyla and David have co-parented Jacob as they’ve explored relationships with others.
