Emmerdale's new Woolpack owners finally unveiled as old face makes huge comeback

The Woolpack Pub in Emmerdale officially has new owners, as former landlord Charity Dingle and son Ryan Stocks prepare to take over.

Tonight’s episode showed the two residents drive up the pub, as they prepare to give the Woolpack a make over and make it the heart and soul of the village once more.

Alongside mum Charity, the mother and son duo will work alongside Marlon and Chas, with Charity actress Emma Atkins saying: “It’s a great dynamic having mother and son save the pub to keep The Woolpack in the family. Also, knowing I’d be reunited with Chas again, I was over the moon.

“Getting back behind the bar will be so exciting. And knowing they’re going to put Charity and Chas together again, it’s just a dream come true.”

However she did admit that she was unaware of the fan speculation around the new Woolpack owners, adding: “That’s brilliant news. I’ve been off social media for a while so it’s wonderful to hear there has been excitement and speculation.

“Let’s hope they’re happy when they find out.”

Fans have been speculating for months over who the new owners could be, after Marlon and Chas Dingle found themselves in financial difficulty following the Christmas Day explosion that damaged the pub – and now their questions have finally been answered.

Some fans had speculated that Kim Tate could be the possible new owner, after she placed a bid at the auction, but it seems other viewers were right on the money with their prediction for Ryan Stocks.

One fan said: “I think Ryan could buy the pub,” as another added: “I hope Ryan buys it not kim tate and I can’t wait for tomorrow.”

A third said: “Ryan’s gonna buy the Woolie with his inheritance,” while a fourth agreed: “I predict Ryan will buy the pub with his inheritance.”

Fans will certainly be pleased that their predictions were right and ahead of tonight’s big reveal, Ryan Stocks actor James Moore explained that he was delighted to be one of the new owners and a part of the venue’s legacy, saying: “I was excited to hear Ryan would be one of the new owners of the pub.

“It’s a big step for him as a character especially after losing his mother and cements his part in Emmerdale history.”

He also cannot wait to get back to working alongside his fellow co-stars in the venue once more, saying: “I always loved Marlon as a team member in the woolpack, and I think it’s safe to say at this point he is integral to the pub.

“I can’t imagine the place without him so I hope he is involved in the upcoming storylines with Charity and I.”

Ryan added: “It will be great to film in the new pub and there is definitely an electrifying buzz when everybody is in the room together.

“It feels like a long time since I have done a scene in the Woolpack so it’s going to be very exciting to be back.”

Another big question however is what the new Woolpack pub will look like following it’s refurbishment.

Will it be completely modernised after being damaged? Or will the pub be restored back to it’s former glory?

While viewers will have to wait and see what lies in store, Emma Atkins has hinted that while it will be familiar, the Woolpack will be brought into the new generation, saying: “The refurb is brilliant and well thought out.

“They manage to maintain that country pub style, with a modern twist, using a really vibrant velvet upholstery in wonderful autumnal colours. The new snug area is my favourite.

“During the design process, Ryan rightly points out the pub is also in need of wheelchair access and suggests one section of the bar be lowered in order to cater for everyone.”
