Emotional King Charles spots clergyman's awkward paper blunder during Queen's funeral

King Charles and the millions of people that tuned in to watch the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II spotted an awkward blunder during the service.

The Queen’s funeral took place on Monday at London’s Westminster Abbey, with hundreds of members of the armed forces and several famous faces attending to pay tribute to Her Majesty who passed away on Thursday September 7.

But moments after the Queen’s coffin was carried into the abbey, a clergyman, who was adjusting his glasses, dropped a piece of paper onto the floor.

As it fell, it was spotted by King Charles who turned his head and looked at the the floor.

Picking up on the blunder, anxious viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on the awkward incident.

One user exclaimed: “That dude is NOT just gonna leave that paper he dropped there the whole time, is he?!”

Another wrote: “I wish whoever dropped that piece of paper or whatever next to the coffin would pick it up, it’s all I can look at.”

A third penned: “That piece of A5 paper is going to haunt whoever dropped it for the rest of their lives,” as someone else added: “I think someone dropped a piece of paper during the Queen’s funeral. That would’ve been my last straw.”

While a fifth echoed: “That poor guy who dropped that piece of paper at the queen’s funeral must be cringing with embarrassment, I know I was.”

The paper was later removed at some point during the service, but many concerned fans took to social media after they noticed the man that dropped it was no longer there.

“There is now a vacant seat where the guy who dropped the white piece of paper was sat…,” penned one as another questioned: “Where did the guy who dropped the paper go?! #queensfuneral.”

A third worried fan tweeted: “Are we just going to ignore the fact that the guy who dropped the paper isn’t there anymore?,” while someone else speculated: “They’ve kicked out the guy who dropped his paper!!!”
