Emotional Liam Payne arrives at Tom Parker's funeral to applause after poignant tribute

Liam Payne was seen arriving at Tom Parker’s funeral today (April 20) as he joined The Wanted singer’s family and friends for his funeral in South-Easton.

Arriving at the Francis of Assisi church, the former One Direction star was dressed in a black suit as he came bid a final goodbye to Tom.

Liam, who had performed at a charity gig for Stand Up to Cancer, organised by Tom in September last year following an inoperable brain tumour diagnosis, was met with an applause from fans as he arrived at the church.

He attended alongside the rest of The Wanted members and Tom’s wife Kelsey.

Kelsey, who married Tom in 2018 and shares two children, broke down in tears as she followed his horse drawn hearse while walking arm in arm with her parents.

She watched as it took the late singer’s coffin, which was covered in an array of lilies, through the streets as fans lined up to pay their respects to the late singer.

Flowers also flooded the service as which included the word Tom written across it in the shape of a heart was shared, alongside a beautiful flower tribute with the word daddy spelled out.

Tom was diagnosed with an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma in October 2020 but vowed to fight it and was performing on stage with The Wanted just days before his tragic death.

The singer passed away on March 30, 2022, with his closest friends and family by his side.

After learning of Tom’s death, Liam took to Twitter and penned a moving tribute.

The singer wrote: “‘I’m heartbroken to hear about Tom. He was so full of life and humour, and the memories I have of him with stay with me forever. Sending my thoughts out to his family and his brothers in The Wanted.”
