An expert has said that “it won’t be easy” to find new and classic Christmas songs in the future, but urges “they haven’t died out” despite not many news ones picking up.

Despite modern Christmas songs being released year in, year out, none of them ever pick up as much as the older ones.
Although Last Christmas, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Santa Baby and Merry Xmas Everybody are classics, there are countless modern artists that could provide a new festive soundtrack.
Self-confessed Christmas expert Viva O’Flynn revealed to Daily Star that going forward we will still have “modern” and “classic” Christmas songs, urging: “They haven’t died out.
“We will keep churning out with new Christmas songs as long as creativity is alive and well in future generations,” Viva continued.
Acknowledging that we mainly listen to the golden oldie tracks, Viva says there’s “nothing wrong with that” but recommends listeners branching out a little.
“It won’t be easy finding more classic songs in the future,” Viva admits candidly.
Adding: “Listeners are their own personal DJs – having more freedom to choose what songs to play – at the touch of their fingertips.”
She concluded: “We have to keep our ears open to great Christmas songs. The survivability of these Christmas songs rely on those that play them and singalong. Who knows what the future brings?”
