Festival-goers resorting to paper cups at Glastonbury to avoid 'wrath of dirty toilets'

Glastonbury is back and so are the dreaded Portaloo toilets.

Huge queues of people wanting to spend a penny – or even more – can be seen scattered across Worthy Farm.

You can smell them before you see them and some campers avoid them altogether.

Festival-goers even resort to using paper pint cups to empty their bladders and bowels.

One camper told Daily Star he had to wait 20 minutes just for the sawdust loo at his campsite.

While another added: ‘The queues have been getting longer and smeller as the weekend goes on.

‘I’ve seen plenty of men and women relieving themselves in cups rather than face the wrath of the dirty toilets

‘There’s also been women using the urinals because they didn’t think they’d make it through the queue.’

As well as the lengthy queues, festival-goers also have to remember not to get caught short and bring their own toilet paper.

While some portaloos offer a more privacy – and much-needed hand sanitiser – others are simply just a raised hole on the floor and a paddle between your feet.

Festival toilets are famously a zone to only enter if you’re truly desperate, but once you get inside you may wish you’d never gone, with an array of disgust across the floors, in the toilet in the air.

However, if you can steer clear of the main toilets, you might be so lucky to find somewhere to relieve yourself in peace – or you’ll just appreciate your bathroom when you return home.

But, aside from the toilets, the festival remains in lieu with its incredible reputation, with top acts and luxurious food stands and bars surrounding the fields.

Glastonbury fans are all pooling into Worthy Farm this year to make the most of the return of the famous festival after two years of cancellations.

Glastonbury 2020 should have been the 50th anniversary of the event, but instead they have celebrated the historic date this year, 52 years after the festival was created.

The likes of Billie Eilish, Sam Fender, Paul McCartney and Fleetwood Mac all joined the line-up to celebrate the impressive milestone for the biggest UK music festival.
