Former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella has shared the happy news that she is pregnant with her second child.
The star who is known to fans for playing the role of Kelly Taylor in the long-running BBC soap revealed to OK! magazine that she and her husband Simon Boardley are expecting.
Speaking to the publication, she revealed: “It’s all kisses for now … Here we go again Simon Boardley.”
Brooke and Simon tied the knot In 2017. They later welcomed their first child Elsie in September 2020.
The happy couple made it known that they wanted another child relatively quickly and Brooke previously told OK! that she thinks it’s important for her daughter to grow up with a sibling.
She explained: “I come from a really big family and I’m so close to my siblings. Having someone to go through life with is really important and I’d love to give Elsie that. There’s plenty of room in our home for another little one.
“We’re not getting any younger, so obviously we need to think about these things, but I’m not in a rush.
She added: “I want to enjoy Elsie as a first-time mum and give her all the love and support that she needs.”
As well as making an impact in EastEnders from 2001-2004, Brooke is also known to fans for founding the Ben Kinsella Trust.
Brooke created the charity in memory of her younger brother who was sadly stabbed to death in 2008 when he was just 16 years old.
The soap star was previously awarded an MBE for her charity work and spoke openly about her heartbreak.
She also shared that she is devastated that Elsie will never meet her late brother.
The expectant mum explained: “It’s a double-edged sword. Being Elsie’s mum is everything I’ve ever wanted, but on the other hand I can’t help but think about everyone who isn’t here to meet her. For me, the main person missing out is Ben.
“Obviously, I love Elsie more than anything and having loved Ben so much as well it’s heartbreaking to know the two of them will never get the chance to meet.”
She added: “Losing a sibling… who was one of my best friends… was hard. The thought of losing a child is utterly horrendous. Now I know what there is to lose, it broke my heart all over again.”
Brooke later returned to EastEnders in 2018 playing a different role – helping them research knife crime for a storyline that saw young Shakil Kazemi stabbed to death by a member of a gang.
