GMB's Ranvir Singh blasts Richard Madeley as 'rude' over Christine Lampard insult

Good Morning Britain turned tense as Richard Madeley took aim at Lorraine star Christine Lampard on Wednesday’s episode – April 13.

The TV veteran, 65, seemingly couldn’t wait for Lorraine Kelly to return to her usual post as he told footballs star Frank Lampard’s wife it appeared as though the usual host had “been away forever”.

This seemed to annoy Ranvir Singh – who also occasionally fills in for the Scottish host when she in on holiday – lunging to Christine’s defence, she blasted her co-star as “rude”.

The former Loose Women star did chuckle along before hitting back with: “I’m doing my best to cover, I promise Richard I won’t bore you.”

Richard said: “Christine’s in for Lorraine at 9am,” before adding: “Gosh Lorraine’s been away forever.”

There was a moment of awkwardness as Christine began to laugh on-screen.

Ranvir stepped in: “Hang on a minute, you know me and Christine do a very good job.”

Addressing her co-star who had joined via video link, the Strictly Come Dancing star blurted: “He’s rude isn’t he.”

Christine chimed in, explaining: “I’m trying my best here to hold it all together.”

Digging a hole for himself, Richard commented: “I just wondered where she had gone as it seemed like she’d been gone forever.”

Moving on, he uncomfortably asked: “Anyway what have you got going on the show Christine?”

Slightly red faced and giggling away, the TV personality who looked stunning in a chic mustard coloured dress, chirped back telling him she wouldn’t bore him.

After the mum-of-two had discussed the line up, Richard told Christine: “I’m not complaining.”

Getting in on the joke, Ranvir remarked: “Apparently the weeks have dragged without Lorraine here,” as she rolled her eyes.

Good Morning Britain airs week days on ITV from 6am.
