GMB's Richard Madeley claims Thomas Markle had plans to 'stalk' Meghan and Harry

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley claimed Thomas Markle had plans to “stalk” Harry and Meghan.

Presenting Monday morning’s (May 30) episode alongside Charlotte Hawkins, the 66-year-old welcomed Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle’s half sister, onto the morning show.

Samantha, 57, immediately shut down claims that Meghan had tried to reach out to her estranged father, who recently suffered a stroke.

Richard then posed the question “why should she?”, because the 77-year-old reportedly had plans to come to London with a news film crew where he was “basically going to stalk Harry and Meghan.”

He continued: “He was going to follow them around London with a film crew, throwing questions at them if he could get near enough.”

The presenter went on to say that Thomas had plans to go to Frogmore House in Windsor, which is where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reside when they stay in London.

“He was basically going to doorstep them with a film crew and try and catch her reconciliation on camera, which all sounds very showbizzy and very much in the public eye,” he added.

The former This Morning presenter asked: “Once she knew that that was his plan, it’s not surprising is it that she should keep her distance?”

“Who told you that was his plan?,” Samantha hit back, before adding: “It sounds like the PR staff were drinking too much mercury in the water.”

Richard assured Meghan’s half sister that the information they had received was accurate because it came from Tom Bower, a well-respected journalist and writer who spoke to Thomas Markle on the Saturday before he suffered a stroke.

Richard explained that Thomas had plans to “follow them around London with a film crew, throwing questions at them if he could get near enough”

“He came onto this programme, he’s an authenticated, very respected journalist and he said that that’s what your dad told him he was going to do,” Richard exclaimed.

Samantha explained that she believed her father was attending because of a “very special invite” therefore she “doesn’t believe” he was planning to “follow anybody around.”

She gave an update on Thomas’ health after his stroke and said “He feels blessed to be alive and he’s rebounding remarkably well.”
