Good Morning Britain to broadcast first-ever Saturday show following Queen's death

Popular ITV breakfast show Good Morning Britain (GMB) will broadcast on Saturday for the first time ever following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The network has cleared all of its usual programming to make space for non-stop coverage commemorating the late monarch, who died on Thursday at the age of 96.

GMB will air between 6am and 9.30am on Saturday morning, with hosts Ben Shepherd and Susanna Reid guiding viewers through the latest tributes and ceremonial formalities following the Queen’s death.

Then, at 9.30am, ITV will broadcast a special extra-long programme as rolling news coverage continues throughout the morning.

The afternoon will be packed with a trio of specially made documentaries. The first is titled ‘Our Queen, The People’s Stories’ which will feature stories and anecdotes from people of all walks of life who have come into contact with the Queen.

This will be followed by a documentary, narrated by Julie Etchingham, called ‘The Queen in Her Own Words’. This will air at 3.10pm and feature some of the Queen’s most iconic speeches, broadcasts and personal memoirs, the Daily Express reports.

The finally documentary, ‘Queen and Country’ will run at 4.05pm and will be about the Queen’s deep love for the British countryside.

  • ITV News – 5pm to 6pm
  • Ninja Warrior UK: Race for Glory – 6pm
  • The Masked Dancer – 6.50pm
  • The Voice UK – 8pm
  • Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? – 9.10pm
  • ITV News – 10pm.
  • Queen Elizabeth II – The Longest Reign – 10.45pm

The gameshows due to be aired on Saturday were pre-recorded before the Queen’s death.
