Mandalorian and Swingers star Rio Hackford has sadly died at the age of 51.
The late actor was perhaps best known for his role in The Mandalorian as well as being the stepson of acting legend, Helen Mirren.
Hackford’s brother Alex revealed to Variety at the weekend that the Swingers star had died on Thursday in Sunset beach after battling a long and unknown illness.
Since then, many heartfelt tributes have flooded in on Instagram, with Hackford’s close friend D.V DeVincentis sharing a sweet tribute post in memory of his chum.
Along with a black and white image of the late actor, he penned: “Rio was more attuned to experience than anyone I’ve ever known.
“He would stop what was happening to point it out, compel you to pay attention. He would order you a must-have experience from a beloved menu and hold your eye as you paid attention to what was happening in your mouth.”
The screenwriter added: “Right, Guy? I mean… right?’ He would put an experience for you on the stereo, then start it over and play it again for you because we were talking over it the first time and ‘Pal, you really have to listen to it.'”
Hackford was best known for his role in The Mandalorian, where he played the on-set performer of the droid IG-11 and was voiced by director and actor Taiki Waititi.
More recently, the actor took on the role of the manager in the Disney+ hit series Pam & Tommy – which explored the short marriage of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee and the famous sex tape scandal.
The film star first made his first appearance on the big screen in 1990 in the Blockbuster hit film Pretty Woman.
He had an uncredited role as a street junkie starring alongside Julia Robert and Richard Gear in the iconic movie.
In his television career, he was known for playing the recurring role of Toby on the popular American HBO series Treme.
Hackford also made guest appearances alongside his step-mum on When Nature Calls, With Helen Mirran.
