Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield return to This Morning as fans call for shake-up

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have returned to This Morning after an Easter break.

The dynamic duo welcomed viewers to the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (April 18) but fans didn’t seem too happy to see them.

Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Vernon Kay have all stepped in to replace Phillip and Holly over half term.

It appears that the famous foursome struck a chord with viewers and some have taken to Twitter for them to come back.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “I haven’t missed them.”

Another added: “Wish it was Vernon and Josie today.”

A third person posted: “Let’s just say it… We want Josie back!”

While a fourth social media user said: “Have to agree with so many that both Phil and Holly are ‘tired’ and the show needs fresh energy. It’s been great fun with the fill-ins.”

Alison and Dermot confirmed Holly and Phillip would be returning during Monday’s (April 18) show.

At the end of the programme, Alison told viewers: “Holly and Phil are back tomorrow. Donal [Skehan] joins us in the kitchen with his garlic and rosemary chicken.”

Big Brother winner Josie presented This Morning alongside I’m A Celebrity star Vernon during the first week fo the Easter holidays.

Speaking about hosting the show, Josie said: “I still cannot believe I’ve even hosted This Morning.

“I feel very privileged, very honoured, and just can’t believe it’s happening to me.

“I’m very thankful to all the This Morning team for letting me come back and host.

“As for Vernon, when they said I’d be hosting with Vernon again I screamed with excitement! What a legend.”

Vernon added at the time: “I had the most brilliant time hosting This Morning with Josie before Christmas and I’m chuffed to be asked back again.

“The show is such an institution for many and I’m really looking forward to seeing the team and interacting with the viewers again over Easter.”

Holly welcomed her Freeze The Fear co-star Lee Mack onto the show during Tuesday’s episode.
