Holly Willoughby says presenting Dancing On Ice terrifies her because she always fears there will be a nasty injury.
She is so scared something will go wrong, she refuses to watch the routines.
Holly, 40, told the Daily Star Sunday: “It’s live telly and there is ice, so it’s absolutely terrifying. Most of the time me and Phillip sit just behind the set and I look away from the monitor.
“I watch Phil watch the performance – so I know if it has been OK.
“But then during the skate-off, Phillip and I are always on the side of the rink. I am thinking: ‘I am right here – this could be hideous and horrible.’
“And it doesn’t get any easier. There are so many bits of this show I haven’t seen.”
Holly’s worst nightmare is watching a celeb tackle death-defying move the headbanger.
It sees the female skater get spun around, facing upwards, while being held by just their ankles.
Holly added: “Whenever there is a headbanger, I won’t watch it. I cannot bear it. I only see it afterwards when they put on the replay.
“If I know the routine has a headbanger in it, I am absolutely panicked.”
Over the years there have been a number of injuries while the show is airing live to millions of viewers.
Jennifer Ellison and Matt Evers are among the stars to suffer horror cuts after things went wrong.
Holly said: “It doesn’t even have to be a big moment in a routine for things to go wrong.
“We have seen routines where they do a small move and catch an edge.
“It can be when you least expect it that something happens.”
