Holly Willoughby slammed the idea that The Queen should have to fulfil any royal duties as “nonsense”.
The ITV presenter threw her support behind The Queen live on Monday’s edition of This Morning (July 4) during a chat with royal expert Camilla Tominey and Gyles Brandreth.
It came amid news that the 96-year-old monarch has had her official duties scaled back following her ongoing mobility issues that have forced her to pull out of key events.

Buckingham Palace has now re-written Her Majesty’s official duties for the first time in over a decade, with Prince Charles in line to take on some of her more challenging jobs.
Sitting next to co-star Phillip Schofield, Holly said: “I feel like right now, where she is. This idea of must fulfilling anything is a nonsense, isn’t it?”
Royal pundit Camilla had said: “Should we be expecting her to carry out the same level of duties that she did when she was 25?”
Phillip replied: “I think there’s not a person watching that would say yes to that.”
Camilla had said of Her Majesty: “She’s deciding on the day what she does, because she’s 96 and she’s had episodic mobility issues.
“Having said that, she was on horseback a couple of weeks ago and doing better, so she’s going to take each day as it comes.”
The Queen’s roles were scaled back following the Platinum Jubilee, which saw the monarch pull out of several events such as the St Paul’s Cathedral service.

She also skipped the State Opening of Parliament on 10 May for the first time since 1963, leaving Charles and Prince William to pick up the event.
Her duty changes came in the annual Sovereign Grant report signed off by the Keeper of the Privy Purse Sir Michael Stevens, who handles the royal household’s financial affairs.
The letter has removed events such as the State Opening of Parliament from her listed jobs.
Palace sources have insisted the changes are not “drastic” and simply a small post-Jubilee update, according to The Telegraph.
