Home and Away is a much-loved soap which is known for being filled with captivating storylines but over the years it has had its fair share of tragic and usual deaths too.
This week the next person to meet their maker in Summer Bay will be Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) – who will perish after battling cancer of the appendix and tumours in his abdomen.
His tragic death comes shortly after his hospital room wedding to Mia, as he was on remand from prison after confessing to a murder he didn’t commit.
Daily Star Online takes a look at some of the other characters who have ended their time on the soap in sad and mysterious circumstances, leaving viewers heartbroken.
Casey Braxton
In 2O14 Casey Braxton discovered that Johnny Barrett is his father and struggled to come to terms with the revelation which meant his half-brother Kyle isn’t actually related to him and Josh was his paternal half-brother.
Josh is later held hostage by Jake Pirovic, who killed Brax’s girlfriend Charlie Buckton>
Pirovic escapes prison and orders Andy to deal drugs for him.
Casey tries to rescue Josh but he is tragically shot by Pirovic who was aiming for Brax and he later dies in Brax’s arms.
Kat Chapman
In 2018, policewoman Kat Chapman springs Ryan “Robbo” Shaw from his prison cell after he hands himself in for kidnapping – and plans to start a new life with him after they spark up a romance.
Kat, who is pregnant with Martin “Ash” Ashford’s son, creates fake IDs for herself and Robbo to get them to safety
But they are involved in a car accident – smashing into Jasmine Delaney’s car as she arrives into Summer Bay after fleeing her abusive ex.
Kat dies on an operating table after being rushed to hospital.
An emergency C-Section is performed to try and save her baby but the youngster also tragically dies.
Billie Ashford
In February 2017, gym worker Billie Ashford was raped by an intruder while closing up one night causing her to fall pregnant.
Billie later informs VJ she’s pregnant and the baby is his but on their wedding day confesses the baby is not his and that she was raped.
Later Billie tells Phoebe the man who raped her was Mick, Irene’s estranged son.
VJ then asks Billie if Mick is the rapist but she denies it.
After their daughter is born Billie and VJ name the infant Lucinda Leah, or Luc for short.
But doctors discover Billie has an inoperable tumour and has days to live after she starts coughing up blood at her blessing ceremony.
She later asks VJ take her and Lucinda to the beach and she then dies peacefully in his arms in a heartbreaking scene.
Hannah Wilson and Oscar MacGuire
Oscar MacGuire and his twin sister, Evelyn are persuaded to join a commune at the Sanctuary Lodge by their dad following their mum’s death.
But the twins’ aunt Hannah believes something is suspicious about the sanctuary and goes to their Uncle Zac for help.
Oscar also thinks something is not right with the cult and is beaten for not complying to the rules.
Zac has the twins ‘kidnapped’ by the Braxton family and they are taken to the safety of a hotel.
However Oscar and Hannah were killed in shocking scenes aired in May 2016, after an explosion ripped through a hospital fundraiser at the caravan park after gas canisters were mysteriously knocked onto live wires.
Belle Taylor
Belle Taylor travelled to Summer Bay looking for her biological parents and learns that actress Amanda Vale is her biological mother.
She sparks up a relationship with Aden Jefferies and they soon hit it off and get engaged.
Soon after Belle is tragically told she has terminal cancer but decides to hide her diagnosis from Aden.
Eventually he finds out and almost cancels their wedding but they decide to go ahead with the nuptials.
After they return home from their honeymoon Belle dies in her sleep, leaving Aden and her son Ryan devastated.
