I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Chris Moyles has said he has no idea why he signed up for the fan-favourite ITV show.
In an interview with the Daily Star, the Radio 1 legend said: “In the first meeting they said, ‘so, why do you want to do it?’ and I said I don’t want to do it. I have little to no interest to do it.
“They asked why am I here and I said I don’t know. It’s one step further than I’ve ever been.

“We kept talking and the next thing I just thought maybe I should do it. Really, I have no f***ing idea what I’m doing. It’s f***ing crazy. I think I’m gonna freak out when I go into that camp, realise when I see the boys that this is actually real.”
ITV reportedly repeatedly calling the famed DJ is part of the reason why he eventually signed up to the show.
He explained: “Without sounding like a big head I get asked a lot to do it and it got to the point where it would literally be a phone call going ‘hi is it still a no?’ but this year for whatever reason – I’m blaming my assistant actually who convinced me to go in for a meeting.”
Despite his initial hesitancy to do the show, he said that he is “excited”.
He explained: “I’m excited. Last time I saw them [Ant and Dec] they were on the radio show, and I knew at this point I was probably going to be coming on and obviously couldn’t tell anybody.
“So yeah, the last time I saw them they didn’t know which is going to be interesting. I think the first time I see them though I will be fairly nervous because shortly after seeing them you know something bad is probably going to happen.”
Chris will be joining the likes of Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood, Corrie actress Sue Cleveland, Conservative MP Matt Hancock, and Loose Women panellist Charlene White.
The show will be returning to the Australian Outback this year after two years in Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
