I’m A Celebrity came under fire when it was revealed that Matt Hancock would be joining the line-up in a controversial twist.
The former Health Secretary, who left his job after it was revealed he had an affair during the Covid-19 lockdown, has been in the jungle mere days – and he’s faced a lot of grilling from his fellow campers.

His somewhat tearful confession on Friday night’s show saw him tell the celebrities that he was looking for forgiveness from the public, but viewers at home aren’t sure on his statement.
Speaking to Daily Star, body language expert Inbaal Honigman has shared her thoughts as to how much truth is behind Matt’s sentiment.
She said: “When Matt Hancock comes clean about hoping for forgiveness, he looks Charlene straight in the eye.
“His gaze is direct and unwavering. It appears to convey sincerity, he really would love to be forgiven. He’s truthful about it.
“His eyes don’t lose focus, he’s projecting honesty. However, unbroken eye contact can be used by people to get someone to like them.”
Inbaal explained that Matt was attempting to show he was a good listener and demanded full attention from Charlene in a bit to get her to believe him.
But while Matt’s body language is trying to win favour with the Loose Women star, Inbaal recognises that Matt doesn’t actually apologise.
She added he is just “hoping” for forgiveness before sharing additional thoughts on how his seemingly attempted to win favour with the public while comforting himself at the same time.
The expert continued: “He then wipes his face with both his hands, which is a soothing gesture, he’s just been through an exchange that unbalanced him and he needs the comfort of his own touch.
“Saying ‘we all make mistakes’, Hancock seems perfectly authentic, he’s looking downwards, which is a mark of sadness. But he doesn’t apologise, he doesn’t say he is sorry, and more importantly, he doesn’t reference which mistake he refers to.
“He’s looking for general absolution, his body language shows that he’s sad and genuinely would love to be forgiven. But there’s nothing to indicate that he’s sorry for any harm he’s caused. He’s sad about the hate he’s received.”
Chris Moyles also recognised that Matt didn’t declare what he was looking for forgiveness for, but rather made a broad statement as he hoped the public would warm to him.
I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV at 9pm.
