I'm A Celebrity's Owen Warner lashes out at Matt Hancock over 'excuse' in trial

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner was left annoyed with Matt Hancock after the controversial MP got a question wrong during Saturday’s Bushtucker trial on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Owen, who plays Romeo Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap, has already got a bit of a reputation for not being the most knowledgeable celebrity in camp.

However, that didn’t stop him from lashing out when Matt got a question wrong as they took on a quiz-style trial called Who Wants To Look Silly On Air?

Based on who Wants To Be A Millionaire, the pair had been given a series of landmarks and were asked which one was the nearest to their jungle camp, Birmingham Live reports.

Owen had told Matt that he thought the answer was Mount Fuji as it is in Japan, which was directly north of the camp. However, Matt pressed Taj Mahal.

Owen snapped: “I thought you said it weren’t the Taj Mahal?” Hancock stuttered as he replied: “Cause I can’t see the question, I didn’t…”

Owen told him to stop making excuses: “No, don’t blame not seeing the question. Did you think it was furthest away? Ah, man, I could have told you that.”

Hancock replied: “I know, I’m so sorry.” Viewers were also annoyed by the moment and took to Twitter to comment.

One social media user wrote: “I’m here for Owen getting p***** at Matt whilst not contributing anything #ImACeleb.”

Another quipped: “I can’t say I’m surprised that a politician is incapable of answering questions #ImACeleb.”

A third added: “Matt’s more used to avoiding questions than answering them #ImACeleb.”

Another chimed in to say: “Did Matt seriously make up a lie as to why he got a question wrong. If it was furthest away surely it’ll have been Eiffel tower #ImACeleb.”

A fifth pointed out: “Not going to lie, I thought Matt Hancock was more intelligent than this lmao, “because I can’t see the question I didn’t hear the question” #ImACeleb.”
