I'm A Celeb's Adele Robets breaks down over Tom Parker's death amid own cancer battle

BBC Radio’s Adele Roberts has been in bits after she saw a video of The Wanted’s Tom Parker before his death, all whilst she battles bowel cancer herself.

The 43-year-old presenter received her diagnosis back in October 2021 and has had to take time off for surgery and chemotherapy.

Adele, who has been on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother, recently revealed to her fans that she is about to have her last chemotherapy session.

She frequently updates her concerned and supportive fans via her Instagram stories.

Roberts recently uploaded a video where she cried about former The Wanted singer Tom Parker, who died from brain cancer in March aged 33.

She said: “So just been to the gym this morning to prepare my body for the -” and she paused to gain her composure.

Adele then continued on: “Sorry, my final round of chemotherapy. I’m just upset because I’ve been watching a video about Tom Parker from The Wanted. I’m just really sad for him that he’s passed away, but I was just saying on my Facebook page that I wish I could have met him in real life.”

She then told her 18,000 followers that she “wanted to thank him for the strength that he had given her” and also to the “wonderful people on Instagram who have been good to her”.

Adele then gave a special mention to her girlfriend Kate Holderness for her support through the ordeal.

The radio host said she has been trying to help herself through the side-effects of her chemotherapy treatment and is hopeful that she will be free of cancer within the next few weeks.

She carried on: “Anyway, hopefully going to pick up my last round of chemotherapy from the hospital today and what I try and do each day is get out of bed, look after my body. It’s really suffering now and feeling the effects of chemotherapy.”

Adele informed her followers that she had “been to the gym” and “done a stepping session” so she’s ready to “walk to the hospital to pick up her final round” of chemotherapy.
