I'm A Celeb's Chris Moyles hatched out secret plan to sneak contraband into camp

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is back on November 6 with a number of new celebs gearing up to take on gruelling challenges.

One star who will be fighting for the opportunity to be crowned King of the Jungle is BBC Radio’s Chris Moyles, but he doesn’t intend to go hungry.

The celebrities are famously put on a stringent diet of rice and beans unless they win a sweet treat as the result of a challenge.

While the challenges are tricky in itself, doing them without food only makes it harder – and Chris is adamant he’s not going to be slowed down by the diet.

Ahead of his stint on the show, Chris confessed that he is determined to sneak some food into camp, confessing that he’s quite good at sneaking the odd snack.

He said his “best attribute” is hiding food, adding: “I’m going to fly out early and sneak into the jungle and hide pot noodles everywhere, then I will be everyone’s best friend.”

And Chris wasn’t joking, with the radio star becoming one of the first people to land in Australia as the celebrities flew Down Under to quarantine before they went in the jungle..

There are a handful of things celebrities can take with them in the jungle, including three sets of underwear and three sets of swimwear.

Necessities are also allowed in the jungle, like toothbrushes, toothpaste and medicine.

The campmates will be seen on screen from Sunday

A luxury item is also welcome in the jungle, but the celebrities have to earn the right to bring it in – and it’s often an emotional episode to say the least.

But all other items are banned – yet that doesn’t mean celebrities haven’t tried their hardest to sneak in various contraband in the past, and some of them have been lucky enough to get them through.

Gillian McKeith famously managed to get through contraband in her series after hiding rock salt, garlic powder and soup in secret pockets sewn into her knickers.

Gillian was busted after sneaking in spices

She was busted when she slipped salt into her campmates’ food and had her jungle jail privileges revoked.

Producers then demanded all contestants to hand over anything they were not allowed to bring into the jungle and out came Japanese miso soup powder, eight stock cubes and bags of cum, celery and garlic.

Will Chris Moyles get quite so lucky with sneaking in the spices?

I’m A Celeb returns on November 6 on ITV.
