Inside Bradley Walsh’s jaw-dropping net worth – and former football career

Bradley Walsh will appear on Desert Island Discs this weekend as he shares thoughts on his interesting life and career so far.

The show talks to all manner of famous and interesting people, from wartime doctors to celebrities like Ricky Gervais, Ian Wright and Richard Osman.

Episodes can often become emotional as celebrity guests look back on the ups and downs in their lives, and the soundtrack they feel accompanies it.

Despite an impressive career, Bradley, 61, has indicated he may consider retiring soon.

The Chase host said: “You know what, in a couple of years time I won’t have to do any of it, I’ll be retired and that’ll be it.”

Bradley Walsh is reported to have a jaw-dropping net worth of £20million, including £12.5mil in assets.

It was revealed in 2018 that Bradley had earned £9.2mil in the two years before, allowing him to live in an Essex mansion complete with a pool.

He owns the company Wingit Productions alongside his wife Donna Derby, itself believed to be worth £12.3mil, according to the Sun.

He and Donna, who once appeared in the music video for Simply Irresistible by Robert Palmer, have been married since 1997.

They share one son, Barney, who features alongside Walsh in the show Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad. Bradley also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

He’s now spent 40 years in showbiz, but his face first became nationally recognised when he presented the National Lottery.

He remains best-known for presenting the chase and acting credits in Coronation Street as Danny Baldwin and in Doctor Who as Graham O’Brien.

In 2009, Bradley landed a role as DS Ronnie brooks in Law & Order: UK and featured in eight series of the show.

His passion for life on TV, the football pitch and the stage are not where Bradley’s talents stop and he has released two studio albums.

The first was Chasing Dreams released in 2016, which reached the number 10 spot in the UK album charts.

Who did Bradey Walsh play for?

Bradley Walsh played for Brentford reserves, but his career was cut short

It is fair to say that of Bradley’s chosen careers, his football one was not the most successful, starting out for the likes of Wormley Rovers at youth level, before signing for Brentford.

A regular reserve for the Bees, Bradley moved to Barnet on loan and also turned out for Tring Town, Boreham Wood and Chalfont St Peter in the Southern Football League.

His career ended at just 22 when he suffered some career-ending ankle fractures.

Thanks to his sporting background, Bradley has been a natural celebrity choice for the charity football match Soccer Aid.
