Inside N-Dubz's wild lives as Fazer turns 35 – sex tapes, solo success and bankruptcy

N Dubz frequently made the headlines during their 11-year career and had everybody singing “Na Na, Naiiii” whenever they released a new track.

The group that formed in 2000 went on to sell millions of records after being signed by Polydor back in 2006, releasing their first single, You Better Not Waste My Time.

Having started out as Lickle Rinsers Crew, N Dubz underwent a string of name changes including NW1, No Worries, NW before ultimately becoming N Dubz.

Despite enjoying success including two gold-certified albums, five MOBO Awards and 13 top 40 singles they called it a day in 2011, following the release of their Greatest Hits album on November 28.

But what have Richard Rawson, Tula Contastavlos and Costadinos Contostavlos, also known as Fazer, Tulisa and Dappy been up to since? Daily Star is here to bring you up to date…

After the group disbanded, Fazer opted to stay in the music and has gone on to become an award-winning producer, songwriter and DJ.

The musician, who turns 35 on Feb 5, went on to form production company Sky’s The Limit Entertainment with business partner, Peter Ibsen back in 2013.

Shortly after going official with his new venture, He went on to release 6-foot-8, a freestyle track under his new company name, proving he meant business about going solo.

During his time in N Dubz, Fazer was known to produce their music, often seen playing the piano at certain events introducing their music.

Keeping to his production roots, he went on to produce tracks for the likes of Tulisa, Rihanna, Rita Ora, Jessie J and the hit Lost for K-Pop superstars BTS in 2016.

Performing under his birth name and not as Fazer, he went on to headline the likes of Yahoo! Wireless Festival in 2013, alongside names including Justin Timberlake, Calvin Harris and Jay Z.

Since then, he’s gone on to release a string of singles including his 2019 single, UFO.

Despite his glittering success with N Dubz, he was declared bankrupt on December 4, 2013, but this didn’t knock his spirits, with Fazer continuing his music career and building his empire once more.

Tulisa

Famed for her impressive vocals and her iconic The Female Boss tattoo, Tulisa was one of the hottest female solo artists of her time, with hits left, right and centre.

Tulisa, 33, was announced as a replacement judge on The X Factor, stepping into Cheryl’s seat back in 2011, joining Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Destiny’s Child star, Kelly Rowland.

Despite it being her first year on the programme, she went on to win the series with Little Mix before she bowed out in 2013.

As a solo artist, Tulisa boasts a Number 1 single, as well as three Top 20 hits.

Her debut single, Young, went straight to the top of the charts and was later certified Gold following her debut performance on Britain’s Got Talent.

However, her solo album The Female Boss only managed to hit Number 35 on the Official UK Charts.

As a songwriter, Tulisa fought for recognition after writing Britney Spears’ hit Scream & Shout initially titled I Don’t Give A F**k but was stripped of all credit after her producer gave the track to will.i.am and Britney.

She later went on to file a lawsuit against the Black Eyed Peas star and eventually won 10per cent of the publishing rights.

Her world was rocked in 2012 when an intimate video of her and ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards appeared on the internet which was later blocked by an injunction.

Addressing the sex tape, she said: “This is someone that I loved, that I trusted, that meant the world to me, that I feel deeply betrayed by. I am sure that everyone at home has had intimate moments with someone they cared about and never expected at any point that they would go and share it with the rest of the world,” before adding that its resurfacing was “unexpected”.

Tulisa faced further heartache after being arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs in 2013, the case was thrown out two years later when it emerged that Mazher Mahmood had lied to the court.

Before finding fame, he was convicted of battery in 2007 and faced two counts of assault in 2008, of which he pleaded guilty.

He was slapped with four weeks behind bars, suspended for 12 months and had to do 100 hours of community service.

Famous for his love of hats, Dappy, 34, burst onto the solo scene in 2011 with his debut single, No Regrets, featuring ex-bandmate, Fazer.

The track instantly hit the top spot with Queen guitarist Brian May praising the Camden-born star.

May later featured on his second solo track, Rockstar, which charted at Number 2, taken from his solo album, Bad Intentions.

Having secured himself as one of music’s biggest names, he went on to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, claiming he took part to clear his tax bill.

During his time in the now derelict house, Dappy created waves, famously getting naked in the swimming pool and running around the house with a snapback cap protecting his manhood and showing his bare bum to his housemates.

Despite being a big name in the music, life soon took a drastic turn for Dappy who found himself on the wrong side of the law once more.

Just several years after riding the waves of success, he was found guilty of assault and affray in 2013 before later being convicted for common assault and assault for two different incidents in 2014.

The dad-of-two was arrested by armed police in 2017 after allegedly hitting a woman with a tennis racket.

At the time, a spokesperson for Herts Police said: “Police were called at 4.30pm on Wednesday May 10 to reports of an incident involving a man and a woman in the street in Roe Green Close, Hatfield.

“The man threatened the woman before leaving the scene. It is believed he had a knife. No one was seriously injured.”

They went on: “A 29-year-old man was arrested in the local area around 6pm on suspicion of assault ABH and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

“He was taken to custody for questioning and remains in custody this morning.”

Several months later, he was convicted of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Despite this, he continues to make music and released his latest single, Wounds last year.
