Emmerdale viewers have “washed their hands of” one character, as they called out another “whiny” actor.
Friday’s episode of the ITV soap saw Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) return home with his wife Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) following her addiction relapse.
As Liam berated Leyla during an argument, viewers swiftly turned on the doctor for being “childish” and “selfish”.

They also bemoaned the show being left on a cliffhanger until Tuesday, as tonight’s episode (September 19) has been pulled from air to honour the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Posting to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “I’ve washed my hands with Liam. Leyla has made mistakes but now she is ready to move on. Liam is being very childish and selfish.”
Another commented: “Liam needs to stop lying and support Leyla, he’s so selfish.”
Meanwhile, a third said: “Rubbish Liam, you’re not trying hard enough! And with that, that’s your lot until Tuesday.”
Liam wasn’t the only Dales resident frustrating Emmerdale fans during Friday’s show.
As Millie Tate (Willow Bell) threw a tantrum after discovering her room had been given away by her grandmother Kim Tate (Claire King), viewers slammed the youngster and deemed her a “whiny brat”.
Others also criticised the acting in the scene.
One viewer wrote: “Millie is such a whiny brat and doesn’t help that she can’t frigging act.”
Another said: “Not sure i can put up with Millie much longer.”
“Millie being a little cow over the rooms, taking after granny I see,” another viewer concluded.
More trouble is ahead for Liam and Leyla later this month as the doctor is set to betray his partner by kissing his ex-fiancée Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles).
The former couple are set to enjoy a steamy smooch in shocking scenes.
Emmerdale will continue at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, September 20 on ITV.
