Jack Keating's chest tattoo meaning as Love Island star cracks on at Casa Amor

Jack Keating was one of six boys to enter this year’s Love Island series on the dramatic Casa Amor stage on Friday night, where half the contestants are separated from their pairs and made to interact with a new batch of singles.

The 23-year-old from Dublin, who works in social media marketing, is the only son of Boyzone’s Ronan Keating and his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.

Jack is the third Love Island contestant this year to have a celebrity parent, after Gemma Owen and Antigoni Buxton.

Having been single for nearly five years, he revealed he was looking for a spark, saying: “Hopefully I’ll get a connection with somebody and see what happens.”

However, fans of the show have had a mixed response to the youngster, with some claiming that he looked too young to be part of the show.

One person commented: “Right who let their 15-year-old, called Jack, get tattoos and come on Love Island?”

Jack Keating has a huge tattoo across his chest, which reads “What’s meant for you won’t pass you by”, which is an old Irish proverb that Jack may have had inked to honour his Irish roots.

Given that it’s quite huge and noticeable, many Love Island viewers have commented on it. One Twitter user described it as “the Irish hun mantra.”

Another person called it “the worst tattoo I have ever seen”, with a third quipping the sight of the tattoo “made me itch”.

When did Jack Keating get his first tattoo?

While Jack Keating’s massive chest tattoo is the most eye-catching one on his body, the youngster has a few inkings.

Jack got his first tatts to celebrate his 18th birthday, getting a triangles on each arm – one with the sun inside and one with the moon.

He had shared a picture of his first ink on social media, with a caption “First of many.” It definitely was one of many, as Jack seems to have gotten several more tattoos since then.

He also has a huge wing covering most of his right forearm, as well as Roman numerals tattooed just under his left pec, though the meanings behind these designs aren’t clear.

Both his parents have a lot of tattoos, so it’s no surprise that Jack is into it as well.

Besides tattoos, the young lad appears to enjoy playing rugby, saying on the show: “I’m very competitive, for sure. I play rugby back home in Dublin and in London so I’ve definitely got that competitive edge.”
