James Corden admits stealing loo napkins from White House during recent television shoot

James Corden has confessed how he stole packets of presidential loo napkins from The White House during a recent TV shoot.

He stole “bricks” of the napkins after having earlier noticed the “unbelievable “ towels with the POTUS stamp.

Corden crafted a cunning plan to film his US show segment and then return to a private White House staff loo to nab half the inventory placing them in a backpack.

The Gavin and Stacey star handed them out as gifts to pals and kept others for his own CBS dressing room in Los Angeles.

His stealing confession comes in the wake of an FBI raid on ex president Donald Trump’s home after being accused of illegally taking private dockets from the White House.

Corden stole “an unbelievable amount”, according to his producer Rob Crabbe which he confirmed during the Late Late Show.

Late Late Show host Corden confirmed: “I did. I actually gave a packet to Rob.”

Corden confessed his crime when he did a joke about Trump’s legal battle with the FBI over allegations of thefts.

He boasted: “This does make me feel less guilty for stealing all those packs of napkins when I was at The white House a few months ago. That is true. I did.*”

Crabbe confirmed he got a ‘brick’ from his host, who added: “There are probably 40 napkins in each plastic thing, goo, high quality ones, with the President’s seal on them.

“The bathroom which we were using at the White House were full with crew and stuff, and said to this lady: ‘is there another bathroom I could use, because we are due on set quite soon?’

“She said: ‘yeah yeah follow me.’ And we walked down this very posh corridor into a much nicer toilet than we as the crew filming there that day had been given.

“I go to the toilet and was washing my hands with unbelievable napkins of high quality paper with the stamp and I thought under the sink were all these cupboards, and I thought I reckon they keep these napkins in those cupboards.

“So I look in and sure enough it is wall to wall napkins – a napkin festival.

‘So I think right don’t take them now, wait until the end of the day.’

Corden then filmed with President Biden inside the Oval Office, calling it: “arguably one of the greatest days we have ever had here on the show. Everyone was amazing.”
