Johnny Depp spotted outside Sheffield student bar giving punter surprise 3-word retort

Johnny Depp left people gobsmacked after he made an unexpected trip to Sheffield, South Yorks, over the weekend – taking a break from his ongoing defamation case.

The actor, 58, jetted straight to the UK on Sunday (May 29) after the gruelling six week trial in Virginia, USA, before joining his pal Jeff Beck who is currently on tour.

Much to the confusion of onlookers, Johnny joined Jeff on stage at Sheffield City Hall before performing alongside his mate at the stunning venue.

But while Johnny’s appearance on stage left some fans completely speechless, he left many more gobsmacked after the gig.

After leaving the gig, Johnny left students bewildered as they went about their night in the nearby Slug and Lettuce and Bronco’s Rodeo.

“No it’s not, no it’s not, is that Johnny Depp?” one student can be heard asking.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star responded: “It certainly is,” as he snapped selfies with fans who couldn’t believe their luck.

Johnny and Jeff go way back, with the pair collaborating in 2020 on Johnny’s cover of John Lennon’s song, Isolation, which recently reappeared in the American charts amid his ongoing defamation case against Amber Heard.

After they released the track in 2020, Jeff said: “Johnny and I have been working on music together for a while now and we recorded this track during our time in the studio last year, you’ll be hearing more from Johnny and me in a little while.”

The two haven’t released any new music since, but perhaps once the trial against Amber has finished Johnny will have more time on his hands to focus on his musical career.

Not only is Johnny a talented actor, but he is also known as the guitarist of the star-studded band Hollywood Vampires alongside Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, from Aerosmith.

In 2015, they appeared in My Valentine, Paul McCartney’s music video with Johnny playing his guitar.

Johnny is still awaiting the Amber Heard trial verdict but took his mind off things while rocking out with British music legend Jeff Beck.

The court trial concluded on Friday 27 May, with the jury still deliberating the final outcome.

The jury return to court on Tuesday, May 31.
