Actor Sam Neill is back on the big screen in the latest instalment of the blockbuster thrill series Jurassic Park, Jurassic World Dominion.
Sam, 74, appeared as the famous Dr Alan Grant in the first movie in the series back in 1993 and the New Zealander revealed it even led to an embarrassing moment with Princess Diana.
At the film premiere, Sam’s son Tim, only around 10 at the time, apparently started to fart when the big T-Rex in the film appeared.
Sam said to the New York Times: “I spent the whole film in a muck sweat, thinking, “Princess Di is being exposed to the horrors of a little boy’s fart, but she’s going to think it’s me.”
True to form, Diana apparently did not mention the dinosaur-induced gas ball, sparing Sam an embarrassing moment.
The interview was done with co-stars Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum who have heard the story before.
Jeff even joked: “I love that story, Sam. I’ve heard him tell that a couple of times, and it’s just amazing the lengths that he will go to still blame the boy.”
What is Sam Neill’s net worth?
Jurassic Park star Sam Neill is believed to be worth an incredible £14.3million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Born in Northern Ireland, Sam was once tipped to become the next James Bond, suggesting his whopping net worth could have been even bigger.
He is best known for his role in the 1993 Steven Spielberg blockbuster, before reminding people of his talents on TV in the British drama The Tudors, playing Cardinal Wolsey.
He later took the role of the sadistic and creepy Chief Inspector Chester Campbell, the arch-enemy of Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders.
Sam, though iconic in his Jurassic role, still gets fans questioning his accent in the movie to this day.
The actor blamed director Spielberg for the confusion.
He said to Vanity Fair: “He came up to me halfway through the day and he said, ‘Hey, Sam, you know the accent we were talking about?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’ve been working on it for four weeks…’ He said, ‘Don’t worry about it, just use your own voice’.
“I said, ‘That’s great, Steven, thank you so much.’ And then four days later, he came up to me and said, ‘You know that voice you’re using now?’ I said, ‘Yeah, my voice?’ He said, ‘Somewhere in between.'”
Who is Sam Neill married to?
Sam Neill is no longer married, but believed to be in a relationship with Australian journalist Laura Tingle.
The actor has been married twice, first to actress Lisa Harrow between 1980 to 1989, and the two welcomed son Tim in 1983.
After the split, Sam ended up with makeup artist Noriko Watanabe and they were married in 1989, before separating in 2017.
The pair, who share daughter Elena in 1991, were reported to have hit a rough patch and he was spotted kissing another woman in Brisbane in 2016.
