Kanye West accuses Piers Morgan of 'being a Karen' in heated TalkTV bust-up

Kanye ‘Ye’ West has accused Piers Morgan of “being a Karen” during a heated clash with the presenter ion TalkTV.

Piers, 57, grilled the US rapper, 42, in a jaw-dropping interview teased on Piers’ Uncensored show on Wednesday night (October 19).

The fiery two-hour-long chat saw the former Good Morning Britain anchor skewer Ye on recent anti-Semetic comments he posted on Twitter.

One shocking moment from the interview saw Ye accuse Piers of “being a Karen” and ignoring his trauma, as well as asking the broadcaster if he has made as much money as him.

The rapper was suspended from Twitter after his offensive anti-Semetic comments about the Jewish community in a now-deleted tweet, where he claimed he was going to go “death con 3” on Jewish people.

Kanye said: “You don’t hold accountability to my pain. You’re being a Karen,” but Piers hit back: “I’m not being a Karen. I’m not a Karen and I’m not going to cancel you and I’m not going to uncensor you.

“I’m simply going to challenge you on what you’re saying.”

Piers desperately tried to wrangle an apology out of the rapper before Ye eventually rowed back from his remarks and apologised.

At first, Piers asked: “My question to you is, do you now regret saying ‘death con 3 on Jewish people’, are you sorry you said that?”, but West replied: “No, absolutely not… absolutely not”.

Later on, Piers told the Ye fashion designer he should be sorry and pressed: “Racism is racism and you know that I think, don’t you?”

Ye replied: “Yeah, obviously, that’s why I said it,” before Piers hit back: “So you said it knowing it was racist?”

“Yes, I fought fire with fire. I’m not here to get hosed down. I’m a different type of freedom fighter,” Ye replied.

But eventually, ye said: “I will say I’m sorry for the people I hurt with the ‘death con’, with the confusion, I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I am sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through.

“And that I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt.”

Piers then praised the star for being able to apologise, insisting it shows the artist can be “self-aware” and knows when he crosses the line.

He said: “It’s an Uncensored interview, you said something which you now wish you hadn’t said and you’ve apologised. I actually think that says a lot about you. That shows that you have got that ability to be self-aware, to know when you cross the line.-

“I think someone like you with all your energy and creativity and your passion, you are going to say stuff, the way you talk constantly and in such an extraordinary manner, you are going to stay stuff and you are going to trip up and say things the wrong way. I don’t think there is anything wrong in when you do that, in doing what you did, and say ‘sorry, I crossed a line, I apologise’.”

Kanye responded: “It’s wrong to hold an apology hostage and I gotta let go of that and free myself of the trauma. And say I’m just going to give it all up to God right now and say to those families that I have hurt, I just want to give you a big hug.

“I say I am sorry for hurting you in my comments. I want to word it, and not in a political way but in a presidential way, which is what I knew a president to be when I was growing up.”

Piers, previously slammed Ye for crossing the line with his tweets, described the chat as “extraordinary, fiery, passionate, funny & shocking”.

He also revealed to his guests in New York City that it took nearly two hours to get an apology out of West.

Kanye’s initial tweet read: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.

“The funny thing is I actually can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jews also.

“You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
