Katie Price has admitted her children saved her life after she planned her suicide before checking in to The Priory.
Speaking in a new interview the mum of five confessed that if it wasn’t for her children she would have ended it all when she ended up seeking help at the facility last year.
Katie, 43, opened up about how her declining mental health led her to seek professional help when she checked in to The Priory in September 2021.
Speaking to The Radio Times she explained: “I tried to kill myself before I ended up in the Priory. The only reason I didn’t was because of my children. So, if my kids weren’t here I wouldn’t be here today. Fact. The kids saved me.”
Katie has previously spoken about her mental health struggles and opened up to BBC Northern Ireland’s Nolan Live about her 2020 visit to the facility.
When host Stephen Nolan asked how she manages to shoulder so much and stay strong Katie confessed she has had some serious low points.
She said: “You just have to get on with it. I went to The Priory last year, because I had a lot of things to deal with, and I think speaking to a therapist just helps you prepare for it.
“I say to anyone out there, if you are suffering with mental health, and this pandemic doesn’t help, just talk to someone – if you’re feeling low, talk to someone.”
Nolan then asked: “Do you mind opening up about your mental health? What was crunch point for you?”
Katie explained: “I wanted to commit suicide.
“I planned it, I did everything… Everything was on top of me, it was a build-up.

“I’m only human, I’m strong but there’s only so much you can take and I could have either committed suicide or got help.”
She continued: “Every time I went to do it I thought: ‘I can’t, I’ve got kids, sort yourself out’, so I asked for help, got help, and I stuck to it.
“I went to The Priory for five weeks and I’m a brand new person now.”
