Katie Price's sweet relationship with son Harvey – clothing range to £6k clubbing antics

Often, the children of famous celebrities end up taking on fame themselves. Many celebrity children get papped from an early age, and have their personal lives splashed in the press.

But it’s part of our fascination with the showbiz world that we like seeing updates on all areas of their lives – family included.

And one incredibly well-loved celebrity child is now a celeb in his own right.

Harvey Price, the eldest son of reality TV star and former glamour model Katie Price, has become a national treasure.

The pair just launched a follow up to their first documentary together on the BBC – Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next.

Let’s take a look at the sweet relationship between Harvey and Kate over the years.

Single motherhood

Katie has a close bond with her children

Harvey is the son of Katie and Dwight Yorke, who were in a relationship in 2001, the Sun reports.

Dwight denied that Harvey was his originally, but a paternity test showed he is his biological father.

Harvey was born with a rare condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which affects just one in 15,000 children in England.

He also has septo-optic dysplasia, and is autistic and partially blind.

Katie mostly raised Harvey single handedly, revealing in 2017 that Dwight had not seen their son in ten years.

In January 2021, Katie announced that she and Harvey would be releasing a documentary film together, named Katie Price: Harvey and Me.

The show explored their lives together as Harvey navigated leaving school and his teenage years.

This year, Katie released a follow up documentary called Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next, as Harvey began living in full-time care.

But the film ran alongside Katie’s arrest for drink-driving and anxiety disorder diagnosis.

A review in the Independent said it therefore kept the audience at “arms length” and lacked the emotional moments that “made their story shine before”.

Clothing range

Katie previously revealed that Harvey would be releasing a clothing range

In 2021, Katie and Harvey announced that Harvey would be releasing his own clothing range, in collaboration with autism-aware clothing label Born Anxious, the Mirror reports.

Clothing items in the range proudly show phrases like ‘I DON’T LIKE LOUD NOISE’, ‘AUTISM ARMY’, ‘BEE KIND’, and ‘I’M ANXIOUS’.

Profits are split between the 19-year-old’s trust fund and two autism-awareness charities.

Katie said at the time: “I am really happy for Harvey to release his own official range of clothing which celebrates his love of frogs and also a way of donating to Anna Kennedy’s charity and raise Autism awareness through the Born Anxious clothing label.”

Sticking up for ‘bullying’

In 2015, columnist and TV personality Katie Hopkins blasted Katie for not paying for her son’s medical treatment – available on the NHS – because she had the money to pay herself.

The treatment for Harvey’s complex medical condition, septo-optic dysplasia, reportedly costs the NHS around £1,000 a day.

Katie Hopkins said: “Do you know how f***ing expensive that would be… it would be up to a grand a day.

“With the amount you earn I find that tricky, when you could afford it yourself,”

But Katie Price replied that she pays her taxes, and that the funding for all of Harvey’s care is agreed by the local authority.

The upset star said: “That was about my kids so it was a little bit close.” She added that Katie was “not a politician, so I’d have this conversation with a politician.”

Harvey’s new job

Harvey has recently become a Mencap ambassador, helping to stop cyberbullying

Earlier this year, Katie revealed a major milestone for Harvey – when he became a Myth Buster at learning disability charity Mencap.

The beaming mum-of-five took to Instagram to share a lovely snap of her 19-year-old son, wearing a white top from his clothing company.

Katie wrote on her page: “Listen. Ask. Learn. Harvey is happy to be a MythBuster for Mencap! We are a group of people who want to show the world that living life with a learning disability means we can do lots of things…

“We want to bust myths and campaign for more representation of people like us in society. People like Harvey can go to college and live independently – I love it! Forever proud of you @officialmrharveyprice.”

Mother and son clubbing

Just a month ago, Harvey attended his first club night with his mum – and they had fans queueing up for miles.

Apparently making £6,000 from the appearance, the famous pair arrived at 9.30 before getting pictures with eager fans.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Katie normally charges more but she’s agreed to appear for £6k as she’s keen for Harvey to make his own money.

“It’ll all go into his bank account for when he’s older, it’s £10 for a meet and greet so the club can pay her fee easily – people will be queuing up to meet them!”
