Kerry Katona hits out as she argues that Ant McPartlin was treated worlds apart from her during their sobriety journies.
The Atomic Kitten branded the “double standards” as “horrifying” as she analysed how her career nearly came to an end during her hard times.
Kerry exclusively said to the Daily Star: “I absolutely adore Ant and I think his journey is amazing but I feel like us women we get a hard choice.

“Whereas eight months later, he was getting awards, where I’m on This Morning slurring my words due to bipolar medication and my career was almost over. What the f***?”
“This is him per se, it’s nothing to do with Ant himself, it’s society and that’s how it is in f***ing TV.”
Talking about the stark difference, she further wrote in her book: “Look at Ant McPartlin, he’s had his demons and they’ve been well-documented.
“He crashed a car after drinking alcohol and took time out to attend rehab. But he had so much sympathy in a way I didn’t and was back on TV within a few months.
“I really believe that was because he is a prime-time star, no kids of his own, and he’s a man. Just for the record, I’m just using Ant as an example – I absolutely adore him and applaud him on his sobriety, but I’m trying to make a point as to how women are treated differently to men, especially when you’re from a working-class background like myself
She continued: “Look then at all these rock stars, many who are fathers, and who talk about all the orgies and drugs they’ve done in their time. It’s all lapped up by the media and the public and they’re considered heroes!
“But put me on TV, slurring my words because of the medication I’m on to treat a verified medical disorder and people are calling for social services to get involved. The double standards were horrifying. One rule for one and all that.”
The mum-of-five has always been very open with the ups and downs in her personal life and hopes to help fans deal with issues of their own with her book titled Whole Again.
Kerry Katona: Whole Again, published by Mirror Books, is available from high street stores, supermarkets and Amazon now.
