American comedian Pete Davidson may not appear with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian on the Hulu series The Kardashians.
According to a source close to the Saturday Night Live star, friends have been advising Pete against appearing on the show pointing out that his career is already on high.
The source told PageSix: “His career has taken off, what does he need this for?”
“Before he met Kim, no one knew what Pete was doing [all the time],” the source continued.
Pete, 28, has dated high-profile stars in the past like Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale, it appears his team believe that doing reality TV would destroy any sense of a normal life.
According to the source, Pete’s inner circle has also pointed out that men in the Kardashian universe like Tristan Thompson, Lamar Odom and Kris Humphries don’t come across well on reality TV.
The source commented: “It’s a sure way to kill the relationship. Getting involved in the show decimates every man.”
However, another source said that it isn’t true that people are telling Davidson not to participate in The Kardashians.
They said: “He feels no pressure to be in the show. Neither do the people around him. If it happens that he’s on the show, it happens.”
Pete has several acting projects in the works, including a biopic about rock star Joey Ramone, a romantic comedy with Saturday Night Live co-star Colin Jost and a film about sneakers called American Sole.
According to TMZ, cameras were filming at the show’s premiere in Los Angeles earlier this month and caught Kardashian and Davidson arriving and hanging out at the event.
However, Kim, 41, had recently told Variety that she has “not filmed with” Pete.
At the time, she explained: “I’m not opposed to it. It’s just not what he does”.
Kim Kardashian previously revealed that Season 1 will give answers to how she and Pete met along with “who reached out to who and how it happened and all the details that everyone wants to know.”
A Hulu spokesperson told Variety that “The Kardashians” is the “most-watched series premiere on Hulu in the United States, and on Disney+ and Star+ among Star Originals, across all global markets to date.”
