King Charles failed to mention Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in his speech in a ‘deliberate’ way.
His Majesty, King Charles III made his first-ever Christmas address to the nation as Monarch from St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the final resting place of his mother, Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
In his speech, he made a direct reference to the Cost Of Living crisis and the work of the Royal Family, including his son Prince William and his wife Princess Catherine.

However, he did not give any mention of his son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex – who released a controversial Netflix documentary series – despite doing so in his first address after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II passed away.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their controversial six-part television series on the streaming giant where they went into more detail about their alleged mistreatment by the firm.
But former BBC News presenter and Royal Correspondent Simon McCoy, exclusively told The Daily Star that he was not surprised the pair were not mentioned in His Majesty’s first address.
He said: “I’m sure in Montecito they were probably thinking about ‘he’s not mentioned us’, but why should he? I wasn’t surprised at all, he was talking about his role.
“The images of the working members of the royal family, that was quite clear that was quite deliberate. This is the future. And why should he mention the non-working members of the royal family?”

Simon also thinks that if His Majesty did mention the US-based couple, it would detract attention away from the important work the Royal Family do,
The former Sky News broadcaster explained: “If he had mentioned that, it would have been rather difficult because then all the focus would have been off to America again.”
He added: “I think we’ve all had enough of it.
“That’s a private matter now, whether they [Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex] want it to be, but it is private. And clearly, that’s what the King feels it should remain.”

Meanwhile, Simon also thinks that The King is still very much grieving from the loss of his mother.
He said: “He looked quite tired. He looked like someone who’s lost their mother and is still grieving, frankly,
“He hasn’t had the time that everybody else has perhaps to fully deal with that … It was coming from in here [the heart], and I think he wanted to make that absolutely clear to everybody.”
The Royal broadcaster added: “He had to sort of establish that tradition that the Queen had left. And I think he did that admirably be partly by referring to her in such an emotional way.”
