Liam Gallagher has said that he would rather be pushed about in a wheelchair in “agony” rather than have a hip replacement for his arthritis.
The moody Oasis singer also said that the pain is so bad he has to take herbal sleeping tablets and slather himself in Deep Heat every night.
But that’s still preferable to having a double hip replacement after he was told he could die during the op.
Liam, 49, said his hips are “f*****” and that his bones are “all mashed up”.
If he had a hip replacement the damaged hip joint would be replaced with a prosthetic.
Liam told MoJo magazine: “I think I’d rather just be in pain, which is ridiculous, obviously, I know that.”
He joked that his hips made “snap, crackle and pop” noises when it’s cold and admitted that due to also suffering from an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto’s disease, his health is on a “downward slide”.
Liam, a dad-of-four, said: “My eyes are f***ed, my hips are f***ed, got the old thyroid. But we’re all going to die, aren’t we?”
The star said: “It’s the stigma, saying you’ve had your hips replaced – what’s next?”
Being told he “might die” in surgery, with a “one-in-a-million chance” also put Liam off having the op, as he said: “F*** off. I’m not going to crisp it having my hip cracked, thank you.
“I’d rather be in a wheelchair, with [partner] Debbie pushing me around.”
However, Liam says he is not afraid of death and will keep performing until he dies.
He previously joked about his arthritis and said he had been seeing a “mega” acupuncturist who “didn’t f*** about”.
Liam, who is in a relationship with Debbie Gwyther, added: “He gets the needles and whacks them in.
“He sorts it but it keeps coming back. Acupuncture is alright, at least it’s needles.
“I can convince myself it’s still a bit rock ‘n’ roll.”
Liam admitted he can’t even jog any more as the pain from his joints is so severe.
